Campari is presenting the latest edition of its calendar series, designed to celebrate some rituals or phenomenon. Traditionally, the calendar is fronted by a celebrity—for this year’s edition, which is a 16th consecutive piece, the label tapped French-born actress Eva Green, who is unveiling the secrets of “Mythology Mixology” each month.
The 2015 Campari calendar puts 12 best-loved iconic cocktail recipes, shedding some light on their background, heritage, traditions, telling little-known anecdotes related to the cocktail’s origin and more. So far, the brand doesn’t share many details on what cocktails are featured in the calendar—in one of the comments, a Campari representative only noted that the campaign celebrates classic recipes “like the Negroni and the Americano.”
The calendar itself will be unveiled in the coming months, but the stills from the shooting session are already available. For this project, this year Campari collaborated with Julia Fullerton-Batten, an internationally popular fine art photographer, who lent her ultimate talent and expertise to add a pinch of magic to the experience. She is the first ever woman photographer who was tapped by Campari for the Calendar project. In the stills, Eva is wearing gowns in Campari’s signature red—just like the stars of the previous editions (Penelope Cruz and Uma Thurman) did.
“This year’s theme was an interesting challenge, as there was an important job to do in terms of taking historical anecdotes and invigorating them with a modern edge. I’m confident we managed to strike that delicate balance with this year’s imagery,” shared Julia Fullerton-Batten.
