Meantime offers beer ice creams

30 April 2009 | By Popsop Team

London brewer Meantime has teamed up with a food producer to create a range of beer ice creams. Ice creams made with Meantime’s Coffee Porter and Chocolate Beer have been created, along with a Raspberry Wheat Beer Sorbet.

The desserts have been produced by Sulqui company, which met up with Meantime when it pitched to supply its products to the brewery’s flagship pub, the Greenwich Union.

Meantime founder Alastair Hook said. “We liked their passion for the product and the way they were keen about the potential of small batch production. So instead of just letting them sell us some of their product we suggested that Meantime beers would make wonderful bespoke flavours themselves.

Far from laughing at the suggestion, they went away and made some. It tasted fantastic. They told us they wanted to make more but could only do it properly if they could sell it to a wider audience. Why would we want to stop them?
