Bacardi Oro changes its name to Bacardi Gold

Bacardi Brown-Forman renames award-winning rum Bacardi Oro as Bacardi Gold rum in order to create global consistency.
The name change will be investigated since July 2009. Oro is the Spanish translation of Gold.
Liam Newton, director of marketing for Bacardi rum said: “Changing the name of Bacardi Oro rum to Bacardi Gold rum will create worldwide consistency for the product. This change will not impact on the taste and Bacardi Gold rum will continue to be made to the same flavour profile and high quality standards that Don Facundo Bacardi Masso set down in 1862.”
While the name changes, the bottle design and case codes will remain the same.
