‘Everything is OK’: positive social minded packaging
8 September 2008 | By Popsop Team
‘Everything is OK’ is a project of San Francisco based design office Mine. Directly off the site is this explanation of the project, “Faced with the mounting inequities in our world and culture, we set out to assemble a list of resources that would point people toward positive action. We launched a simple website (everythingisok.com) as a means of sharing these links. To promote the site, we created barricade tape with the incongruous message “everything is ok.”
“Today, Everything is OK exists as a kind of social design experiment in subversive positivism. It explores the relationship between medium and message, challenges accepted modes of communication, and provides everyday citizens with tools for social commentary.”
These limited edition canned goods contains 50 feet of Everything Is OK barricade tape, sticker sheet, plus some extra surprise goodies. The tape in these kits is the last 10,000 feet of tape from the original production run — the same tape that was exhibited at the Pasadena Museum of California Art and the Hiroshima Museum of Contemporary Art. Each kit is signed and numbered and comes canned with a special label.
