Campbell employees built playground of recycled materials
22 July 2009 | By Popsop Team
Campbell Soup Company continued its commitment to sustainability and corporate social responsibility by officially opening a new playground composed of recycled materials at Gloucester County’s historic Soupy Island Park in Thorofare, N.J.
The playground is made up of recycled and recyclable heavy-duty aluminum and galvanized steel. And manufacturer Landscape Structures is an exclusive partner of Global ReLeaf. Via that program, Landscape Structures plants trees to offset the carbon dioxide produced during the manufacturing process.
“This playground serves dual purposes for Campbell. For one, we continue our long-standing tradition of giving back to the community,” said Sean Connolly, President of Campbell USA. “Second, by building this playground from recycled materials, Campbell demonstrates its increased commitment to sustainability, which is important to our employees, our shareowners and to people who purchase our products.”
