Evian signs rPET deal with French recycling plant

Evian mineral water brand, owned by Danone Group, has signed an agreement with a new recycling plant owned by France Plastique Recyclage (FPR) about the supply of recycled PET materials.
The brand has committed FPR to source about 35 per cent of its new factory’s 40,000 t/a rPET capacity. The new recycling plant near Paris was opened on June 23 and Evian suppoed to be its first client.
The move is part of Evian’s plans to increase the amount of rPET in its bottles from the current level of around 25 per cent to 50 per cent by the end of next year in order to prove sustainability credentials.
