Most of this profit was gain due to the sales growth in confectionery industry, especially in luxury chocolate sector. Sales decreased only in the bottled water business as the environmental aspect of the production is under critics

This week Nestle confirmed plans to implement innovations and develop the packaging for luxury chocolate as soon as the new R&D facility in Switzerland opens this month.

It is no surprise that sales of premium chocolate are rising in the recession. People need little luxuries. And investing in packaging them in innovative ways that further enhance the indulgence aspect of sweet treats is good business sense as well as clever marketing.
