Festive promotion for Baileys and Smirnoff

Diageo tries to push Baileys and Smirnoff sales in pubs at Christmas time with advertising campaigns and other initiatives.

For example, advertising campaign for Baileys will include 63 percent more TV coverage than it had in 2008. In addition, Diageo says that pubs can achieve more profits with selling Baileys as part of an after-dinner offer (in desserts).

As for Smirnoff, Diageo returns its advertising to TV this month. Also Diageo gives Smirnoff licensees an opportunity to win funding for hosting branded nights in their venues. To make one licensees must submit original ideas for such events to Diageo. Winners will get help in promoting their events in local area. The first will be held in November.
