6 October 2009 | By Anna Rudenko
The last qualifying round of the first Jim Beam Surftag U.S. Series surfing competition will take place on October 11 in Oceanside, California.
Winners will be awarded with $25 000 in cash prizes. They will also get an opportunity to advance to the championship round in November for the “No. 1 Surf Club in California” title.
By the terms of the competition, each surfer must catch three waves and then return to the beach to tag the next team-mate.

The first Surftag event was held by Jim Beam in Australia in 2001. Since then it became the country’s most notable surfing competition. For more details check the Surftag’s official website.
