7Up to launch a new ad campaign and packaging redesign

This week the Dr Pepper Snapple Group company launches a first new ad campaign in more than three years for the 7Up brand. Also it plans to release a pomegranate line extension later this year and a packaging redesign in 2010.

Earlier this year Dr Pepper Snapple Group released Cherry 7Up with antioxidants and is also rolling out Pomegranate 7Up for the holidays.

According to David Falk, director of 7Up and flavors at the Dr Pepper Snapple Group, investments in the new campaign will be a significant increase over last year’s spending. By Nielsen Co. estimates, in 2008 the brand spent about $21 million on the media promotion excluding online ads.
