Drinking Glasses from Recycled Bottles

12 November 2009 | By Anna Rudenko

Making used bottles useful again is a great and a very valuable skill nowadays. Nicolas Paul from Chicago can do this: he takes old bottles and turns them into lovely glasses with the help of the traditional style of soft glassblowing. It is pure recycling, as he uses 100% of the bottle to avoid waist.

He takes a used bottle (Dr.Pepper, Pepsi, Rolling Rock, Red Stripe, Grey Goose, Coca-Cola, etc), washes it carefully and then heats it until the glass begins to move. Then the designer shapes the bottle into a regular drinking  glass. Once this part of work is finished, the item is placed into an annealing oven to cool for 30 hours.

This green technology can save a lot of money and breathe a new live to waste stuff. Even old bottles have the right to reincarnate.
