Coca-Cola replaced PowerADE Option line with the new PowerADE Zero

As Coca-Cola always looks to enhance its sports drink portfolio, the company has leveraged the success of Coca-Cola Zero. From summer Power- ADE Zero has been available in the United States in three flavors – strawberry, grape and mixed berry. The new PowerADE Zero line replaced PowerADE Option, which has 10 calories per eight ounce serving.

While the reformulation to zero calories is based on consumer feedback, it also provides a key differentiator among competitor products as the only sports drink with no calories that still provides the taste and electrolytes consumers want.

Additionally, the redesigned packaging and graphics offer a closer link to the PowerADE franchise, making PowerADE Zero more suitable for the sports drink aisle rather than the enhanced water aisle. Aside from typical retail channels, PowerADE Zero will also be available in high schools and on college campuses.

With the conversion of PowerADE Option to no-calorie PowerADE Zero, Coca-Cola has a stronger sports drink category that also appeals to health-minded consumers.
