New Becherovka flavour after 201 years

Traditional Czech liqueur Becherovka has a unique sweet taste, which is made of a balanced mixture of herbs and spices according to a secret recipe in Carlsbad since 1807. Its characteristic taste and golden colour is created during several months of maturing in oak barrels.

Jan Becher has prepared a great surprise for Becherovka lovers. For the first time in 200yrs of the history of legendary Carlsbad’s Becherovka there is a flavoured variation. After 5 years of preparation of the recipe Pernod-Ricard released ‘Lemond’, sister of their world-famous drink. It’s 100% herbal liqueur with citrus fruits element (you can recognize for example kumquat (Fortunella Hindsii) in its aroma).

The design of the bottle comes from the workshop of the Englishman Martin Blunt, today almost the court designer of the Karlovy Vary Becherovka. Aware of the historical heritage of Becherovka, he has created from the characteristic oval bottle a modern, attractive and timeless packaging of the new product. This bottle is the result of two special techniques – coating, which is a special surface finish for the whole bottle giving it a frosted look, and labels sprayed directly onto the bottle.

This revamped design of the label is just the first step of a new communication strategy intended to rejuvenate and refresh the overall image of Becherovka – one of the best-known and most popular Czech brands on the alcohol market. Becherovka’s new design and image reflects its customers’ current modern lifestyle. Naturally, Becherovka’s exceptional and unmistakable taste, which comes out most distinctly when the drink is served cooled, will not change.

Main target of this brand new drink is the younger generation of consumers. Becherovka Lemond contains 20% of alcohol, so it is more suitable for every night use.
