“Be the face”: Pepsi Italy searching for 32 faces to reproduce on its cans

PepsiCo Italy launced the promotional campaign “Be the face” for Pepsi and Pepsi Light cans. It is not only a simple contest, but becomes as well a new means through which the Company decided to interact in a funny and rewarding manner with its consumers.
Starting October the 15th until the end of the year, the Be the face competition will allow in fact for the selection of 32 faces that will be printed on all Pepsi cans during 2009.
In order to become Pepsi’s 2009 face, the steps to follow are very simple: all consumers can visit Pepsi’s website and upload their funniest pictures. The most voted pictures will become the faces of Pepsi’s cans for the entire 2009, while amongst the voters, only one person, upon extraction, can win a Mazda2, awarded the Automondiale 2008 Prize.
Be the Face is part of the new PepsiCo’s strategy, which originates in the company’s wish to interact and create lasting relationships with its own consumer. The latter becomes crucial to the Group, interacts with the brand and creates his own “Pepsi experiences”.
Winning with Pepsi does not stop to website participation, it continues with beautiful prizes available in sale points as well. All clients have to do is buy a Classical Pepsi or Pepsi Light can and send an sms with the date, time and amount of the cash voucher.
