To support the local athlete community, Nike has opened the Nike+ FuelStation at Clapham Common, London. This digitally enabled sporting clubhouse follows a modern, also tech-equipped retail space, which Nike launched in March at Boxpark.
As follows from the title, the 384 m² space is fully NikeFuel enabled, and athletes can use it to get more inspired while at training. FuelStation offers people one-to-one consultation with real athletes from local communities. On the ground-floor the venue features a space, Nike+ Innovation Zone where consumers can enjoy out Nike+ experiences. At the Nike+ Trial Zone, athletes can try out the latest Nike+ Digital Sports products like Nike+ Running, Football and Training footwear, the Nike Training Club App and Nike+ FuelBand for free.
Using NIKEiD terminals on the first floor, consumers can design footwear and apparel with the help of experienced Design Consultants and order product directly via nikestore.com.
A free Running club and free daily Training Club classes led by top Nike Master Trainers are open for Clapham Common locals too.
Gino Fisanotti, Marketing Director Nike UK& Irelandsaid: “Nike is enabling and inspiring athletes to be the best they can be by offering premium services and experiences at this unique digitally enabled sporting clubhouse. Located at the heart of one of London’s key sporting communities, the Nike+ FuelStation at Clapham Common inspires athletes of every level to be passionate about sport and do more”.
The architecture of the new building at Nightingale Walk, SW4 9AE looks futuristic and remains sustainable. Exterior floors are created using a raw material made from recycled athletic shoes aka Nike Regrind. Visuals of runners are diamond cut into the solid steel elements of the exterior and plasma screens are broadcasting the NikeFuel Stream. Outside, the building is LED-lightened.
