PLB gives Palma Louca makeover in UK
14 August 2008
Palma Louca - the UK’s number one Brazilian lager imported by PLB - has been given a packaging makeover.
The independent beer and wine importer and distributor said that the update includes lighter bottles, screwtops and a ‘chilled look’ six-pack case. The new packaging coincides with the first national retail listing for Palma Louca in supermarket chain Morrisons, where the beer will be available for GBP4.99 (US$9.37) for six 355ml bottles.
“There is a growing consumer confidence in, and understanding of, premium packaged, genuine imported lager within the beer category,” said Palma Louca’s brand manager at PLB, Martin Howe. “Combine this with the aspirational view the UK consumer has of Brazil and Latin brands in general, and you can see that Palma Louca is a great proposition for the retail sector.”
PLB added Palma Louca to its portfolio in May. The beer is brewed in Rio de Janeiro by Cervejaria Kaiser, which Molson_Coors sold to Mexican drinks group FEMSA in 2006.
