Team Hyundai Will Interact with Fans of UEFA EURO 2012

Being the UEFA EURO 2012 top partner, Hyundai Motor Company has announced its own Team Hyundai. The team gathers five of the best international players in Europe to act as the brand’s ambassadors in Hyundai’s communications activities during the 2012 biggest football tournament.

Allan Rushforth, Senior Vice President and COO of Hyundai Motor Europe commented, “The five ambassadors will be rivals on the field during the upcoming UEFA EURO 2012™, but they are united by their passion for football and it’s a great pleasure to bring them together as Team Hyundai. Their determination and talent sets them apart on the field, and every Team Hyundai player has the potential to be a game-changer during this year’s tournament.”

Iker Casillas (Spain), Lukas Podolski (Germany), Giuseppe Rossi (Italy), Karim Benzema (France) and Daniel Sturridge (England) will take part in the automaker’s marketing activities including Facebook charity initiative aimed to support young people who want “to become game-changers of the future”. Visiting the Hyundai Facebook page, fans can ‘like’ their favorite Team Hyundai player and the company will donate €1 with a total donation of €250.000.

Team Hyundai is positioned as a reminder of the excitement, dynamism and passion the brand identifies itself with and that inspires football fans. Additionally, the automaker has been running a slogan competition entitled ‘Be there with Hyundai’. The best slogan will be put on the national team bus.

To sponsor the UEFA EURO 2012, Hyundai will deliver a fleet of more than 350 Hyundai vehicles to transport teams, VIPs and tournament officials. Hyundai Motor Company has been a partner of UEFA for more than 12 years.
