In the third and the final chapter of our Brands and the City overview, we focused on brands’ projects which helped enrich city canvas and add more elements to the metropolitan life. Here we collected both projects with a social twist, revolving around the idea of making a city a better place to live, and works with a vivid advertising component, such as branded bus shelters, giant interactive billboards and shop windows, which broadened physical borders of the cities.

Amway North America announced that it has signed world class distance runner Kara Goucher to represent NUTRILITE® exclusively from Amway. The brand is a sponsor of the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon series—races held in cities around the country that incorporate miles with music. Goucher will represent the brand at several of these races, speaking at race events, and appearing at the mobile brand experience during race weekend. Her name and likeness also will appear online and in print in various NUTRILITE marketing collateral.

The Amway Positivity Project highlighted everyday stories of positivity by encouraging U.S. residents to submit their own stories of positivity. Twenty-five semifinalists were chosen by a panel of five judges. The 10 entries that garnered the most votes online from the general public were named as finalists. Caitlin Boyle received the most votes and was named as the grand prize winner.

Amway Global announced that it will partner with Boys & Girls Clubs of America to help build seven community gardens across the United States. The Amway Global Positive Sprouts project mobilizes volunteers and incorporates the gardening expertise of the Green Education Foundation (GEF) to teach kids how to start and maintain their own edible gardens. An accompanying curriculum will educate youngsters about nutrition, organic gardening practices, and cooking from the garden.

Amway Global is proud to announce that Artistry Skin Care and Cosmetics, beauty power brand of Amway Global, is the Official Skin Care and Cosmetics Provider of the Miss America Pageant. Artistry will hold the title for both the 2010 and 2011 Miss America Pageants. The sponsorship will also give the Miss America Organization the opportunity to work with the entire Amway Global family of brands.
