Procter&Gamble aims to modernize the dental care industry with the help of ideas crowdsourced through its co-creation channel. The company has launched a new competition, inviting U.S. and Canada residents to help it “ignite an oral care revolution in America that drives both awareness and action.”

Giant corporations and smaller companies always strive to be innovative to boost their business and continue success. Since each of the market leaders does a great job in this field, measuring and comparing their ‘innovative’ achievements can be rather tough, still Information Week, the technology magazine, studied their activity and published a list of the American companies, which use innovations in their strategies in the most effective way. While a multinational technology company, PACCAR, which manufactures premium commercial vehicles, tops the 2011 InformationWeek 500 list, the second position is taken by Levi Strauss, followed by other consumer companies including Procter & Gamble, Walgreen Co. and Colgate-Palmolive Co, which take the 8th, 29th and 50th place correspondingly. The companies were ranked based on how they use technologies and fresh approaches to engage consumers in the most meaningful and entertaining way.
2010 was a relatively kind year to the CoreBrand Power Ranking of the top 100 brands, with 51% having improved in Brand Power over the past year, and 58% improving since 2007. The top 10 companies in Brand Power rank are: Coca-Cola, Hershey, Campbell Soup, Johnson & Johnson, Harley-Davidson, Kellogg, Colgate-Palmolive, UPS, Bayer and American Express.
Leading U.S. corporations announced on March 7 they are taking steps to create a new packaging trade organization. AMERIPEN will engage on public policies impacting the packaging value chain on topics related to packaging and the environment, and will represent the interests of the industry which includes raw material producers, packaging manufacturers, packaging users and fillers, retailers and material recovery organizations. Corporate founders include The Coca-Cola Company, Colgate-Palmolive, ConAgra Foods, The Dow Chemical Co., DuPont Packaging & Industrial Polymers, Kellogg Company, MeadWestvaco (MWV), Procter & Gamble, Sealed Air Corporation and Tetra Pak Inc.
