Adobe Creative Cloud has launched a new campaign, I Am the New Creative, celebrating visual art talent in its multiple forms. The dedicated website encourages visitors to explore art renditions by artists, 42 people, who are illustrators, graphic and video designers, typographers, retouchers, coders, and more. The wall features the creatives’ retouched faces, looking quite psychedelic.

As the 60th Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity has entered its second day after the opening this Sunday, June 16th,  the shortlists in five more categories (Creative Effectiveness, Media, Mobile, Outdoor, PR and Press) have been revealed today, following the announcement of the shortlisted finalists in the Direct, Innovation and Promo & Activation categories. The first winners are to be named tomorrow, on Tuesday, June 18th.

Collaboration between artists and designers can be rewarding for all parties and can bring real value to clients and to each other. But everyone should go into the partnership with eyes wide open to the challenges and potential pitfalls of bringing people inexperienced in packaging into that highly stressful, highly demanding world. As part of the IPA’s international outreach programme to promote the UK and its world leading creative industries, and to develop long-term business links with Brazil during the Olympic handover period, the organisation recently conducted a study tour of Brazil’s creative hotspots. The trip gave us the opportunity to experience firsthand the cultural diversity and creative energy which has delivered Brazil a number of Cannes Lions in the last few years alone.

It might seem counterintuitive amidst the current cycle of high unemployment that employers need to work harder than ever to retain qualified and motivated employees. However, a survey by MetLife revealed that 36 percent of employees hope to leave their job in the next 12 months; many are watching for evidence of an improving economy to move to greener pastures. The study also showed that less than half of employees felt “very strong loyalty” to their employers.
