Letters cause pain, literally—that’s the message behind MINI’s latest activation aiming to raise awareness about the threats of texting while driving. The auto brand collaborated with Publicis México to launch the “Words Can Hurt” campaign that included “injured” letter sculptures installed around Mexico City, prints, as well as a special application “’The Word Blocker” that turns off sound alerts on the users’ phones when they are driving.

MINI is arriving at the Salone del Mobile 2013 with the two-part installation KAPOOOW!, which puts the MINI Paceman into the spotlight. The art project is the central piece of a broader experience, MINI KAPOOOW! @MINI Paceman Garage platform, serving as a space where artists and designers are invited to exchange their creative visions in a series of meetings, sessions and workshops. Both the installation and the creative space will be open at the design furniture fair through Sunday, April 14.

MINI introduces a new element to its “Design with Bite” campaign for the Paceman car, started back in January 2013. Now, the brand invites its global fan community to embark on an epic urban ride through a night city on the dedicated website. The users face various challenges during the online “Discover Your Inner Paceman” journey behind the wheel of the virtual blue MINI Paceman. In the end, MINI defines the inner personality of the user based the choices that were made throughout the ride.

For just one day, April 1, MINI is stepping onto the new, romantic matchmaking ground. The brand has updated its MINI Connected App with the Connect Us feature allowing to find a perfect date on the go. The new “cupid” feature, which can be used exclusively in MINIs, finds you a partner based on your driving style, the most accurate criterion to define your personality. “Get connected, get matched up, get dating,” says MINI, describing the new game.

The classic Mini cars along with Dolly the sheep, 3D displays, holography, liquid crystal, world wide web, and some other groundbreaking technical discoveries made in the U.K., have been nominated for the title of the best Great Britain’s past innovation. The British Science Association has invited the international audience to cast a vote for the most important and influential British Past and Future Innovations. The resuls of voting in both categories will be revealed on March 25.

One of the most recognizable British auto icons, MINI, is celebrating the 100th anniversary of its MINI Plant Oxford. This plant is famous for the fact that the first classic Mini model was assembled there back in 1959—602,816 more MINIs were produced there within the next ten years with yet more to follow. Since MINI is closely connected with the plant,  the brand decided to launch an ambitions European tour to celebrate the centennial birthday of the factory that contributed to its multi-decade history.   

MINI launches latest international campaign dubbed “Design with Bite” to reveal the playful, adventurous nature of its new car— its 7th model, MINI Paceman described as “the world’s first Sports Activity Coupé in the premium compact segment” (the new niche for MINI). The new promotion, which includes TV videos, prints, web special and social media elements (to be launched in late February), invites audience to explore the bold nature of this small and smart urban vehicle.
