Ah, the good old QR code. The subject of Quick Response codes comes up rather a lot in the agency world. When a shiny piece of offline creative is being lovingly crafted, the ‘digital guys’ are often asked whether or not we should include one.

Lexus infuses life into the new print, promoting the 2014 Lexus IS in the latest issue of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit magazine. The automaker has collaborated with the Team One agency, which created the interactive print that is activated by scanning a QR code. Thanks to the technology, a traditional paper magazine ad comes to life, revealing three models wearing swimsuits.

I’ve been interested in Quick Response codes for some time. I thought that was because I was down with the kids, but it turns out that it may be my life stage. Obviously I AM down with the kids, but I am also over 35 and my demographic is the up there with the heaviest QR users.
