The iconic youth-centric footwear brand Converse has teamed up with the fashion label Maison Martin Margiela to create a new collection of shoes that put two universes of the brands against each other, with colour. The Chuck Taylor All Star and the Jack Purcell sneaker styles were used in this collaboration to manifest the power of creativity and personal freedom.

Samsung is presenting its GALAXY Gear, a smartwatch that integrates a traditional timepiece with the latest “micro computer” technology. The Gear is touted as a companion of the larger devices in the brand’s range and is designed to “further integrate the Samsung GALAXY experience into everyday life.” The wearable device performs a range of actions, syncing with Galaxy mobile phones (in particular, the new GALAXY Note 3) for an enhanced consumer experience.
Vodafone has revealed the refreshed visual identity, “Power of Red,” that encompasses energy and the desire to move forward. The new logo developed by The Brand Union comes as an “enhanced” version of the branded sign introduced back in 1997. The creative team added a red rhombus shape emerging from the Vodafone’s much-recognizable inverted comma to render its “confident energy and progression.”
Diet Coke has revealed the winning design of the second annual Diet Coke Young Designer Challenge, announced in the U.S. in mid-May. The participants were tasked to create a design for a limited-edition T-shirt that would capture Diet Coke’s “Stay Extraordinary” ethos and mirror the style of the brand’s ambassador Taylor Swift. The winning work by Brooklyn-based Julianna Bass features a modern, self-assured woman in “a dramatically flaring red skirt” and a stepped shirt, leaning on the Diet Coke logo, placed vertically.

The tech brand is calling international design talents to submit their past works for a chance to collaborate with Futura, a renowned New-York based abstract art master.
Lexus teams up with designboom, a popular digital architecture and design magazine, to run its second annual competition The Lexus Design Award. Professionals, students and design enthusiasts from all across the globe are invited to take the challenge, which this year revolves around the theme of сuriosity. The two winners of the competition will be invited to develop their concepts, working side-by-side with a mentor designer.
