Summer is almost here. To celebrate the arrival of this season of fun, Malibu rolls out Limited Edition Summer ’11 bottle. Designed by up-and-coming artist Nikki Farquharson, this truly one of a kind collectible will be available in all major supermarkets from end April 2011. Colourful and fresh, this limited edition bottle represents all that is summer as well as the carnival spirit of its Caribbean roots.

Academy Award-winning director Tom Hooper joined Captain Morgan aboard a 17th century replica of the Galleon Andalucia in an undisclosed tropical location last week to film a new campaign for the celebrated rum brand. Set in the mid-1600’s, the campaign will—for the first time ever—feature the re-imagined history of legendary privateer and brand icon, Captain Henry Morgan.

Finally it’s time for Sweden to get a limited edition of Absolut. Absolut SVEA is the name on the bottle that is designed and dedicated to the Swedish home market. The effort to find the right, interesting partner with it’s own expression was a long term work which resulted in a collaboration with Fredrik Söderberg, one of Sweden’s most interesting artists.

Molson Coors and Landor Associates launched exciting new designs for Coors Light packaging. Coors Light seeks to build on its heritage, reinforcing the core Rocky Mountain cold refreshment brand message. The simplified design, launching in the UK, promotes the brand’s position as a Premium Light Tasting Beer, whilst managing consumer understanding that ‘light’ references taste and not alcohol by volume (ABV) content. 

Heineken revealed plans for a new design program, termed the ‘open design explorations,’ that will create vibrant new concepts for bars, clubs and social spaces. The first project in the program will launch in June 2011 and will invite emerging design talent from around the world to envisage and create a pioneering ‘pop up club’ that will be unveiled in Milan to coincide with Salone Internazionale del Mobile 2012.

Celebrating the 25th anniversary of its ongoing Art Labels campaign, Beck’s is presenting the best graphics which appeared on its limited edition bottles over the past two and a half decades. The exhibit dubbed ‘Beck’s Art Crawl’ and is rolling out at eight pubs across East London from April 11 through April 28, unveiling the archive of bespoke label artworks by celebrated international artists including Tracey Emin, Jeff Koons, Bruce McLean, Richard Long, Tim Head, Tony Oursler, Tim Noble & Sue Webster and Roderick Buchanan.
