Every year, around 12 billion kg of fish is consumed in the EU. That equals 24 kg for every EU citizen, which is well over the world average of 13 kg per person. What’s more, the demand for fish in Europe is growing. With busier lifestyles, consumers are becoming more conscious of the need to eat a nutritious and balanced diet in order to maintain good health.
