Recently Apple posted iPad sales of 2 million+ since its launch. The iPad can send emails, draw pictures, play games, and is an electronic reader. With more and more apps available, it’s blurred the lines between smart phones and tablets and computers, a view that is sure to become more blurred with Applie’s introduction of the iPhone 4G, that introduces more than 100 new features. Competitors are not been waiting to see how things shake out.
Nokia
Nokia has launched a global campaign featuring real people to promote its new free turn-by-turn voice guided navigation system on all its GPS-enabled smartphones, which was announced back in January. The promotional movement was developed by the Wieden + Kennedy agency (London) and is now rolling out on a global scale on TV and in press.
In October 2009 Nokia presented a literally huge ambient campaign, featuring the biggest sign post ever in the very heart of London. The 50 meter tall, six ton motorized red arrow promoted the «Good Things» feature of Nokia’s Ovi Maps navigation system. The incredible installation project was conceived by the Swedish agency Farfar.
