Uniqlo has announced it will release UU Uniqlo Undercover, by designer Jun Takahashi. The new collection has nothing to do with avant-garde looks, instead, the new ads showcase traditional family scenes. It means that UU is being promoted as ‘clothing for the families of today’ and includes 105 piece collection with 43 items for men, 34 items for women, 27 items for children and even 5 things for babies.

Uniqlo launched the All-Product Recycling Initiative at its stores in the US, UK and France. British Radio 1 DJ and TV presenter Sara Cox announced its UK kick-off at the 311 Oxford Street Flagship Store yesterday at 9 am. Uniqlo UK partnered with the charity Centrepoint for the APR project and Sara, who has been involved with Centrepoint since 2000, joined to launch the initiative.

Coca-Cola has been a muse for a range of other brands and used as a canvas for creative imaginary by celebrated artists and fashion icons. The legendary drink and its red and white style has become the theme of the eighth edition of the Uniqlo’s UT Grand Prix T-shirt design contest. Designs inspired by Coca-Cola are accepted starting August 4 through September 12—the submissions from all around the globe will be judged by a panel of experts in the design industry and be unveiled for online voting. The winners will receive money prizes and get their designs implemented on tees, which will arrive at Uniqlo’s venues worldwide in spring 2012.

Earlier this year, the Japanese lifestyle brand Uniqlo launched a fashion community UNIQLOOKS for those who like to create new outfits made of the brand’s items, share their ‘mix-and-match’ efforts with other people around the globe, who rate the entries with Facebook ‘Likes.’ Now, the brand is inviting its fans to show off their unique summer looks with the other fashionistas for a chance to win a trip to one of five world’s fashion hotspots and receive Uniqlo gift vouchers.

UNIQLO established itself as the most compassionate fashion brand when its CEO and chairman donated $12 million of his own money to cope with the aftermath of Japanese earthquake and technological catastrophe. However, the company is determined to give more to help restore the country, and is uniting top fashion designers and pop-artists under the umbrella of the noble cause entitled ‘Save Japan’.

Uniqlo, a Japan-based fashion retailer, has introduced a new online fashion project featuring an integrated Facebook functionality. Fans of the brand are welcome to upload photos of themselves dressed in UNIQLO clothing items at uniqlooks.uniqlo.com.
