Two weeks ago, a 10-man team from Girvan demonstrated their warm love for their work as well as honoured a former workmate, Jackie Ross. When the cooper, who worked 42 years at Grants’, retired, his colleagues decided to do something extraordinary in his honour. They took the last barrel he made, de-constructed it for the climb, carried the pieces to the peak of the Britain’s highest mountain (1,344 meters) and rebuilt the Glenfiddich barrel again.
