Heineken USA is going to celebrate Black History Month with a creative twist—the alcohol brand is inviting its loyal fans to take part in its Black History Month Art competition for a chance to get their pieces showcased as part the brand’s themed marketing campaign, which will include national print, digital, in-store point of sale, and out of home advertising in 2013, and win $5,000.

Modern supermarkets seem to have just everything you may want, but still there’s a plethora of newly invented goods, which are not sold there—yet. Walmart is giving its consumers a truly one-of-a-kind opportunity to sell their own products in select retailer’s stores across the USA and through Walmart.com. The ‘Get on the Shelf’ competition, headed by @WalmartLabs, the company’s digital technology division, will be rolling out until February 22—entrants are invited to introduce their own inventions (they should to relate to one of the Walmart categories, ranging from apparel, electronics, toys and more) in their videos.

Walkers has kicked off a new promotion dubbed ‘What’s That Flavour?’ and dedicated to the launch of three new flavours, inspired by much-loved British ingredients and recipes. The brand encourages the British consumers to try and guess the flavours for a chance to be entered into a draw in case they manage to identify each of the three new names correctly (so far they are Mystery Flavour A, B or C), and walk away with £50,000.

Dolce&Gabbana has unveiled an haute couture range of exclusive heavily embroidered bodices that may be turned dresses, all in crystals, priced at eighty thousands of euros on average at its fall fashion show. The new “63 exquisitely crafted bustiers encrusted with jewels and sequins and everything glittery” were presented at the closing of the SS12 (watch the video below). These bodysuits are available both as they are and as dresses, which are much easier to wear than bustiers (the key elements of design and decoration are preserved)—only a few of them can be purchased at the moment (which makes this range a bit prêt-à-porter), the rest can be ordered by the loyal clientele.

Coffee brands are working hard to turn the Chinese into the coffee-drinking nation, using the traditional western stories with strong rebellious characters for their advertising campaigns. One of the strongest players on the coffee market, Nescafé, has tapped Chinese professional rally driver, blogger, best-selling author, singer Han Han to front its recent campaign ‘Live Out Your Boldness’ by Publicis Nestle Team Beijing, in which the 29-year old man is living his life to the full and never misses an opportunity to experience something new, with no boundaries or restrictions (of course, nothing illegal).    

The fashion giant Armani has extended its collaboration with Rihanna, started last year—in fall 2011, the brand launched the campaign for Armani Jeans and Emporio Armani Underwear featuring popstar from Barbados, who was also engaged in the creation of the new clothing items. In the previous promotion, the celebrity had a blonde pixie haircut, and now, for the new campaign she now has turned into a brunette and looks like a modern rock diva—the photos of the new 2012 Spring/Summer collections of the Armani’s both labels.

The male international grooming brand Gillette celebrates diversity of facial hair styles by launching a new campaign, featuring three new brand ambassadors, musician and fashion designer André 3000 Benjamin, actors Gael García Bernal and Adrien Brody, who have their own authentic styles. The celebrities will help the brand present Gillette Fusion ProGlide Styler, a new 3-in-1 styling tool for men with facial hair (only in North America there are nearly 40 percent of them) who regularly use multiply items such as trimmers, razors and scissors to keep their hair style as it should be. The new tool is designed to simplify this boring and complicated routine.

McDonald’s UK has launched a new campaign revolving around the theme of simple or serious conversations that are started over a cup of coffee. With the new promotion dubbed ‘Cups,’ developed by Leo Burnett, the fast food giant focuses on simple moments of everyday life. The company’s, which usually highlights burgers and fries in its campaigns (like it was in the recent ‘Timber v. Farmer’ advert), this time turned to promoting its range of coffees.
