Rankings revolving around the health, environmental and social impact of products and companies are gaining their popularity among consumers who want to know if the goods they purchase are really healthy from different points of view. So far, over 95,000 food, toys, apparel, personal care & household products, babies & kids, electronics and appliances produced by both local and global companies (the list of those includes Starbucks, Levi’s, H&M, Nescafe, Nike, PepsiCo, Nestlé and Diesel to name a few) are thoroughly studied and ranked by experts of GoodGuide, with the results being available at the website and on the iPhone app.

Six hundred fewer tons of plastic in the environment in 2011: this is the green result that Benetton Group will achieve by introducing innovative, lightweight liquid wood clothes hangers—100% biodegradable and recyclable—in place of the plastic hangers usually used to display garments. The eco-hangers, developed in partnership with the Fraunhofer-Institut für Chemische Technologie in Pfinztal-Berghausen (Germany), will gradually replace their plastic predecessors throughout the worldwide network of Benetton stores.

Coca-Cola to present new bottles as homage to iconic electronic duo Daft Punk (and in partnership with them) as a new addition to the Club Coke portfolio, which already includes flamboyant designs by Justice & So_Me and Mika. The new bottles in gold and silver, without any pattern at all will be released in a limited-edition box in early March. The minimalistic and kind of futuristic space design is inspired by the appearance of Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, who always perform in their helmets created with a high-tech twist.

In the year that sees the celebration of both the 150th anniversary of the unification of Italy and Gucci’s 90th anniversary, Gucci and Fiat are proud to unveil the 500 by Gucci, a special edition of the iconic Fiat 500 customized by Gucci Creative Director Frida Giannini in partnership with Fiat’s Centro Stile. Launched on the opening day of Milan Fashion Week, the 500 by Gucci will also be on presented at the Geneva International Auto Show from March 3–13, in a dedicated Gucci pop-up store within the Fiat stand.
