Google is planning to provide British news publishers with an opportunity to increase their online revenues. Last month, the company launched the Digital Publishing Innovation Fund in France, and now it is set to introduce a similar project to the UK. These perspectives were outlined by Google’s Executive Chairman Eric Schmidt during his recent interview at the Big Tent Activate Summit in New Delhi, India.
The luxury watches brand Hublot is set to make its own contribution to the global water-saving movement that is being actively supported by many eco-minded fashion labels like Giorgio Armani, H&M and Levi’s to name a few. The brand has teamed up with the legendary electronic music band Depeche Mode to benefit the non-profit organization charity:water by raising funds to bring drinking water to the poorest countries.
The classic Mini cars along with Dolly the sheep, 3D displays, holography, liquid crystal, world wide web, and some other groundbreaking technical discoveries made in the U.K., have been nominated for the title of the best Great Britain’s past innovation. The British Science Association has invited the international audience to cast a vote for the most important and influential British Past and Future Innovations. The resuls of voting in both categories will be revealed on March 25.
Facebook is now allowing advertisers to better target their potential customers to improve the performance of their ads on the platform. The new option, Lookalike Audiences, is rolling out within Power Editor this week. On the Help page, the company describes this feature as a way “to reach new people who are likely to be interested in your business because they are similar to a customer list you care about.”
