The design of the Feed reminds of Pinterest look. The last one becomes a trend of our days—recently Facebook has introduced the ‘Collections’ service for brands allowing them to add a ‘Collect’ button to the images of their products. The new feature “is to combine the ease of online purchasing with the fun of window shopping”, said eBay Chief Technology Officer Mark Carges. He added that it moves the e-commerce browsing experience beyond a search-based one.

Using the Feed, eBay customers can create personalized home-page profiles by following certain categories, says Ad Age. The Feed is curated by users’ purchase and search history and their comments. People can also follow their friends pages and see what they like. Later, the company will add ‘shopper personalities,’ such as the ‘Fashionista,’ or ‘Do-it-yourself Guru,’ which will inspire users by original ideas.

Feed will roll out on eBay’s U.S. home page over the next 100 days, while a global launch is planned over the2013. InSeptember, the company has unveiled its new logo redesigned by Lippincott to become more sleek and modern.

Additionally, eBay rolled out its beta same-day delivery service eBay Now to the whole city of San Francisco where it was tested earlier this year. The company has also made other improvements on its web site including simplifying its Search and product descriptions, and adding larger images.

This winter, eBay announced its plans to innovate the mobile commerce eco-system.
