On June 25, Nokia named the winner of The Nokia Shorts competition. The Nokia Shorts Awards took place at the Edinburgh Film Festival. Over 300 people had an opportunity to watch the 8 short films before the winner was announced.
The competition started in April. Young film directors submitted their ideas to Vimeo. The best 8 themes received financial and gadget support.
James Griffiths with his production of Splitscreen: A Love Story proved he deserved the $5000 it took to create his vision filming on two Nokia N8s and got the first award of $10,000. The film shot in Paris and New York places the two screens together to tell a story of two lovers that ultimately intertwines.
Trailed by constantly upgrading iPhones and Androids, Nokia pushes forward its flagship smartphone N8 with outstanding video quality. The other step to enhance its market position is a global competition ‘Create for Millions’ that brings consumers and developers together to create apps and web apps for the Series 40 phones, says Brandrepublic.
