The shocking ads trend seems to be on the rise now. Following Nivea with its latest “terrorist” prank in the airport and Heineken with its “worst job interview,” Carlsberg has put some people to a tough, stressful test, too. The beer brand asked a group of young men to call their best friends in the middle of the night, between 1:00 and 5:00 AM, asking them to get out of bed and bring 300 euros to pay a card debt. Of course, only faithful friends could do such a favor.

To celebrate the launch of the updated sleek, long-neck Heineken bottle in the U.S., the brand has released a new 1:30 commercial entitled “Deja Vu” starring a Heineken “Man of the World” as he travels around the globe and experiences similar moments in different countries. The new advert, which comes in line with the “Open Your World” campaign, is part of a new advertising push, “Arrive Big,” launching on the U.S. market in late March.

Guinness has unveiled another project to celebrate its legendary black stout. The Irish beer brand has collaborated with Jason Bruges Studio and a team of creative minds to develop a “breathing” pint monument to the iconic drink. The 3.6-meter, 2-ton statue, which is more like a totemic symbol than a pint, has been displayed at the Guinness Storehouse in Dublin.

Heineken is previewing The Magazzini space, which will be unveiled by the brand during this year’s Milan Design Week, April 9–13. This is a collaborative project serving as a platform for talents in the design industry that will meet to collaborate, get inspired and learn, day and night. A few highlights on the program of the creative hub are listed below, with more details to arrive in March.

The lager brand Stella Artois, which has a strong emotional connection with the cinema world, launched its new ad during the live broadcast of the Oscars on Sunday. The advert titled “The Artist,” which has nothing in common with the silent movie under the same name, celebrates the craftsmanship behind each glass of the beer.

Bud Light Platinum is becoming even more musical—following in the footsteps of BlackBerry, Pepsi, Coca-Cola, Intel and Polaroid, which invited music artists to be their creative directors, the beer brand tapped singer and actor Justin Timberlake for the same position. The celebrity, who is one of the co-owners of MySpace now, will “provide creative, musical and cultural curation for the brand.» Bud Light Platinum is Bud Light’s extension with higher alcohol content, launched in 2012 as a product for nighttime party drinkers.

Guinness has released a new commercial as part of its ongoing “Made of More” campaign, which encourages consumers to reveal their talents, boldness and desire to achieve new heights, doing more to become more. The first ad unveiled during the promotion, which is rolling out in GB and Ireland, is  “Cloud” (it was released back in fall 2012) and the latest one is “Clock”—it aired on January 18 on the digital platform and arrives in cinemas and on TV on January 24.
