What will mobility of the future look like? How will urban space of the future affect transportation? Though these questions have already been raised by BMW in its ‘Activate the Future’ video series, Audi is about to have its say on the subject. The brand is bringing its Audi Urban Future Initiative to New York where it will be on display at Openhouse Gallery, May 7 through 9 and let the emerging architects speak on Audi’s behalf.

As part of its recently launched Film Workshop in Los Angeles, Levi’s teamed up with Juxtapoz Magazine to release an absolutely lovely April 2011 special issue dedicated to the current MOCA Art in the Streets exhibition running April 17—August 8 at The Geffen Contemporary. The brand also launched a series of 10 special truck jackets featuring works by celebrated contemporary artists, which works are exhibited at the display, with all the proceeds from the sale of the line to benefit MOCA and its community programs.

However, the project entitled ‘TwitterPicture’ is much more than just creative collaboration between the automaker and the artist. This initiative puts crowd-sourcing strategy to work using the power of social media, namely Twitter.

Finally it’s time for Sweden to get a limited edition of Absolut. Absolut SVEA is the name on the bottle that is designed and dedicated to the Swedish home market. The effort to find the right, interesting partner with it’s own expression was a long term work which resulted in a collaboration with Fredrik Söderberg, one of Sweden’s most interesting artists.

Heineken revealed plans for a new design program, termed the ‘open design explorations,’ that will create vibrant new concepts for bars, clubs and social spaces. The first project in the program will launch in June 2011 and will invite emerging design talent from around the world to envisage and create a pioneering ‘pop up club’ that will be unveiled in Milan to coincide with Salone Internazionale del Mobile 2012.
