Coca-Cola has been a muse for a range of other brands and used as a canvas for creative imaginary by celebrated artists and fashion icons. The legendary drink and its red and white style has become the theme of the eighth edition of the Uniqlo’s UT Grand Prix T-shirt design contest. Designs inspired by Coca-Cola are accepted starting August 4 through September 12—the submissions from all around the globe will be judged by a panel of experts in the design industry and be unveiled for online voting. The winners will receive money prizes and get their designs implemented on tees, which will arrive at Uniqlo’s venues worldwide in spring 2012.

Campaigns revolving around people, who managed to succeed in their field, are nothing new, but they always generate big buzz and draw attention of consumers. Earlier this year, Johnnie Walker celebrated Chinese modern heroes, Dockers interviewed professionals in a range of creative fields—and the same idea was put behind the new campaign launched by Stoli under the traditional tagline ‘The most original people deserve the most original vodka’ across Australia. In May, the brand issued a national call, encouraging people to submit their novel ideas to the Stoli Original Fund on Facebook for a chance to get them implemented with the help of the brand.

Heineken, which is well-known for its successful bottle design experiments and deep involvement with the music industry and youth culture, is stepping into the interior design zone and is encouraging emerging designers to take part in development of a pioneering nightclub. The project, which was announced back in April, has been launched last week and will be open until August 14 for young and aspiring designers from New York City, São Paulo, Tokyo and Milan. The ultimate goal is to develop a state-of-the-art live concept club space, which will be unveiled throughout the duration of Salone Internazionale del Mobile 2012 in April in Milan.

Today, street art is one of the favourite fields when it comes to consumer engagement. Red BullHUGO, Sprite and Nissan to name a few are among brands which imbedded this trend into their initiatives, and Mountain Dew, as one of the biggest supporters of modern culture, also belongs to this list. Following the successful Green Label Art Shop Series campaign launched last summer and based on graffiti culture, the soft drinks brand has kicked off a hilarious Street Art project on its UK Facebook page, inviting its fans to create a piece of street art in the digital dimension.
