Reckitt Benckiser Launches Charity Competition for Young People

Reckitt Benckiser (RB), the leading global household, health and personal care company (with U.S. headquarters in Parsippany, NJ) and parent of Clearasil, Lysol, Woolite and other iconic brands, announced a charity adventure competition for students and those early in their careers. The competition is accessible via RB’s Facebook page, where contestants can enter to win experiences of a lifetime to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, trek the Great Wall ofChina, cycle from London to Paris or Hike the Inca Trail. These charitable adventures are similar to those offered to RB employees by the company.

To enter, users must select one of the charity challenges through RB’s Facebook app and submit an entry which family, friends and colleagues can vote on through the app. The highest scoring five contestants will win and have the opportunity to participate in the charity challenge of their choice. RB will cover the costs and donate funds to Save the Children, who organized the charity challenge activity

RB employees recently completed their third global challenge in Brazil, where 65 dedicated employees from 34 countries trekked through the mountainous Chapada Diamantina region in Brazil and raised over $480,000 for Save the Children. The once in a lifetime competition will offer five winners a similar life-changing opportunity by participating in their very own charity challenge.  The experience of a lifetime initiative is a continuation of the company’s ‘Global Challenge’ initiative setup in partnership with Save the Children.

«With this competition, we are allowing people outside of RB to participate in a charity challenge normally reserved for employees,» stated Rob de Groot, RB’s executive vice president for North America and Australia. «This will give young professionals an idea of our charitable and adventure-loving corporate culture and what it’s like to work for RB
