Clinique and Teen Vogue named Maggie Schoonmaker the winner of the 2011 Clinique Fresh Faces Summer Internship. A senior news-editorial major from the University of Colorado, Boulder, Ms. Schoonmaker has been awarded a 10-week rotational internship at Clinique as well as a one-week, behind-the-scenes experiential opportunity at Teen Vogue in New York City. Runner-up Julie Merin, a senior from Boston University, will receive a one-week experience with Clinique and Teen Vogue.

Wrangler is crowdsourcing ideas—the well-known denim brand is inviting its fans to ‘shape the future’ of the iconic American jeans by presenting their own vision on the new design of the first style in Wrangler’s new line called Next Blue. This is a call for all Americans aged 18+, even for those who are not experienced in design, since the brand wants its fans to present their ideas in video submissions. Those, who want to make their contribution to the world of fashion through Wrangler have to convince the brand that their ‘denim’ ideas are really worth realization and definitely can benefit the brand’s portfolio of Western style jeans.

The Second Annual International e-Waste Design Competition has been announced. This year the event initiators call for those who care about the future of our planet, to present their designer solutions on reducing the e-waste—total amount of used computers, laptops, mobile phones and printers that grows each year as people buy new models and get rid of the outdated ones.

Last year, illy encouraged students and alumni of the School of Visual Arts (SVA) in New York present their own vision on Big Apple through photography in the AuthentiCity competition. In October, 2010 the main prize $10,000 in cash was awarded to Igor Aronov, who was selected out of five finalists for his bespoke impressionism-inspired series ‘Reflection of the City.’ The coffee brand is now returning with the second installment of the project, which attracted over two hundred photographers in its first year, and inviting aspiring visual artists to explore the nature of the city with their cameras again and unlock its secrets in their stills.
