Pinterest embodies the essence of visual social media—it delivers information in a perfect visual format, without loading users with extra text. This probably is the answer why the photo-sharing platform has succeeded so much in the past months, is driving a significant portion of users away from other social-media monsters.
The number social media websites, which can help brands promote their products and services, goes far beyond such giants as Facebook or Twitter and now includes a range of fast-developing platforms, like photo-sharing service Pinterest. Launched on 2010, it has 10 million monthly and is growing even faster than today’s kings of social media did on their initial stage. The more people use the service, the bigger is the audience and the more effective it is to promote something there—knowing that, Honda, which created its page on Pinterest less than a week ago, is rolling out a new activity dubbed ‘Need a #Pintermission’ for the all-new CR-V on this platform.
Kotex wants a woman to talk about her period openly, and to be not shy about this controversial theme. The feminine hygiene care brand has teamed up with Israeli agency Smoyz to launch another campaign dedicated to the theme on Pinterest (the agency says that it’s the first-ever promotional effort that uses this photo-sharing service, which is gaining momentum now). The creative team behind the project dubbed ‘Women’s inspiration day’ selected women, who shared the photos with items which inspire them most on Pinerest boards, and then Kotex asked a female designer to incorporate the new Kotex design into these interests, such as lanterns, bowls, vases, spoons, etc.
