Gucci Unveils Pinnable Banners

Gucci has rolled out a banner ad that can be pinned on Pinterest with one click. The ad demonstrating Gucci shoes and the call to shop at gucci.com features a small ‘Pin it’ button.

Being a part of Gucci’s Fall/Winter 2012 digital campaign, the ad will appear on five sites including WSJ.com, Polyvore, Style.com, Lifestyle Mirror and New York Magazine‘s fashion blog The Cut, says Mashable.

Users who click the ‘Pin it’ button will be able to share the image on Pinterest. There are two images of the ad: the one featuring a model and the one showing the shoes. The campaign aims to boost consumer’s interest to shop online. Triple Lift analytics platform will track how users will share the ad on Pinterest.

It’s clear that the most images and ads on the web can beb pinned and shared but Gucci wants to remind users about this option and maybe draw more followers to its Pinterest page. Now it has not so many fans—just a bit more than 3,100 and 432 pins.

According to Shopify’s study, Pinterest users spend even more than Facebook fans buying things online.
