To help community organizations become more sustainable, Levi Strauss & Co. launches a $100,000 denim insulation fund, an initiative designed to reuse unwanted denim while keeping it out of landfills. The company will provide grants to organizations currently undergoing construction projects to offset the cost difference of using recycled denim insulation instead of conventional insulation.

Procter & Gamble’s Future Friendly has partnered with RecycleBank in rewarding residents of Cincinnati, P&G’s hometown, for their green actions. The initiative comes as part of the city’s enhanced recycling program launched this week with a view to engage about 25% of local people in recycling movement. The four-phase rollout of new recycling carts began in September—the citywide implementation will continue through February 2011 and include participation with a range of companies and eco-organizations.
Coca-Cola Great Britain announces its support for HRH The Prince of Wales’ “Start” initiative, designed to promote and celebrate sustainable living. Coca-Cola will publicize “Start”’s “A Garden Party To Make A Difference” set to run from September 8-19, 2010, by lending its iconic Piccadilly sign to the cause.
