Ahead of the upcoming St Patrick’s Day (17 March), brands are busy launching new products and editions to celebrate the big holiday. The Guinness beer and the Jameson whisky are traditionally considered as the most Irish trademarks, and they just couldn’t miss the date. As part of the upcoming celebration, the brands have announced two products which are totally dedicated to the holiday—HP Guinness Sauce, designed by leading London brand consultancy Bulletproof, and limited edition Jameson bottle, created in collaboration with acclaimed designer Paul Daly.

December is all about getting ready for Christmas and sharing gifts with the ones you love. While giving presents to each other is something men can do quite easily, sharing deep emotions is usually a much tougher thing. Taking this theme as the key one for its new marketing push, Johnnie Walker collaborated with the BBH NY agency to release a tongue-in-cheek spots exploring this purely male characteristic. “Say it without saying it,” encourages the tagline of the smart holiday campaign, which is rolling out on the brand’s website.

The Macallan Masters of Photography: Albert Watson Edition continues the celebration of two very different but highly revered art processes, photography and whisky-making. From December 1, two unique bottles of The Macallan—a 20 year old Sherry Oak and The Macallan 1946, paired with Watson’s portfolio and platinum prints, will be available to purchase around the world. To mark the launch, Watson’s photographic prints were unveiled in London, kicking off a global exhibition tour.

Ballantine’s has added its first seasonal limited edition expression to the range, with the unveiling of Ballantine’s Christmas Reserve. Created by Master Blender Sandy Hyslop, Ballantine’s Christmas Reserve is an exceptional blended whisky of superior quality which will be available annually for a limited period. This expression is a Scotch whisky category first, with its familiar seasonal notes and luxury Christmas aromas such as sweet wood, dried fruit, raisins and cinnamon.

On November 15, The Macallan® and Lalique set a record for a bottle of whisky sold at auction and all of the proceeds will go to charity: water. Coveted by bidders around the world, The Macallan® 64 Year Old in Lalique: Cire Perdue sold for $460,000 in a lively auction at Sotheby’s in New York City. This sale represents the most unique collaboration to date between The Macallan® and Lalique, with 100 percent of the proceeds benefitting charity: water, an organization that provides access to clean, safe drinking water to people in developing nations.
