London-based brand and design consultants wonderlandWPA in collaboration with a new venture Story Brands Ltd. have developed branding for Story, a new soft drink brand exclusive to bars, restaurants and hotels, aimed at sophisticated consumers who want to have a good night out without drinking alcohol.
wonderlandWPA defined the brand strategy and developed the brand identity including name, visual expression and tone of voice. Story aims to redefine the soft drink category through a brand that is confident, stylish and stands out through a simple and clear aesthetic.
Lawrence Barnett, Managing Director at wonderlandWPA says, “Soft drinks is a very competitive market, and finding a unique positioning for the new brand was key. We realised that while supermarkets offer consumers an extensive range of non-alcoholic drinks, in most bars or restaurants the choice is often limited. Our research also identified that, when socialising, consumers do not necessarily want to drink the same drinks they have in their fridge at home, but are looking for something special. With Story we have created a brand that is exclusive, aspirational and marks a sense of occasion on a night out.”
The brand has been available to trade from August 2011 and will be distributed throughout the UK with a view to developing export markets in 2012.
