Aquafresh in the new packaging with holography

The GlaxoSmithKline company presented a new Aquafresh White & Shine packaging with a holographic rainbow image.

It made its way on shelves in summer. Making the holography image, GSK used the HoloBrite technology by Specialized Packaging Group combined with a metallic ink from Henkel North America. With this approach the surface of an image is smooth and shiny because of eliminating the laminated layer of metallized polyester.

«Traditional holographic packaging contains a laminated layer of metallized polyester that does not remove easily from the paperboard, making recycling very difficult. This package has no polyester or metal content. As a result, there is no impact to typical paperboard recycling streams,» said Michael J. Larocca, packaging development manager for GSK Consumer Healthcare.
