The innovative bike uses three different modes that can be switched via the touchscreen controls. The ‘Pure’ mode turns off electric motor and turns the Wörthersee e-bike into a pedal one.

The ‘eGrip’ mode turns on the electric motor making the bike function like a scooter that can reach a top speed of 31mph. Drivers can control momentum with a grip shift built into the handle bars.

The ‘Pedelec’ mode allows drivers to use both the electric motor and the cyclists pedalling power to reach speeds of up to 50 mph.

Additionally, the bike is designed to perform tricks such as wheelies. During performing stunts it can be switched to different modes that can be entered directly on the e-bike or via an app on a smartphone.

The vehicle is made from carbon fibre-reinforced polymer and weighs 24lbs. The lithium-ion battery takes only 2.5 hours.

Depending on the feedback on the concept, Audi will decide whether to put it on a mass production or not.

Another automaker, Peugeot, in collaboration with designer Phillipe Starck has presented the final scetch of a scooter bike that will be produced specially for Bordeaux city inhabitants.
