Audi’s Museum on Wheels to Travel Across Europe

Audi Tradition is kicking off the 2011 historic car season by setting up ‘Museum on Wheels’. A number of iconic Audi models representing different decades of the brand’s history will go on tour across Europe as ‘Museum on Wheels’ and participate in more than 30 key events of automobile industry including Techno Classica car show in Essen, Goodwood Festival of Speed in Great Britain in July, car show in Rome, etc.

The cars on display at ‘Museum on Wheels’ will range from high performance NSU TT and Audi 50 models manufactured in the 1950s to the Auto Union Type C and Type D “Silver Arrows” that participated in the English Grand Prix races in Donington Park in 1937 and 1938. Moreover, in some of the car shows, Audi will unveil its motorbikes and bicycles which the brand produced before and after WWII.

About 40 Audi vehicles will be participating in the celebration of the 125th anniversary of the automobile at an event entitled ‘Automobile Summer 2011’. The celebration is slated for May 7-8 in the German state of Baden-Württemberg. Later in May, 5 models representing Audi tradition will participate in Kitzbühel Alpine Rally and travel through the Austrian mountains.

Afterwards, Audi Tradition will be participating in Donau Classic held in Audi plant hometown, in Ingolstadt on June 16 to 18.
