Botanical Bakery Continues to Scoop Awards and High Accolades

Botanical Bakery, a relatively new US brand of handcrafted shortbread cookies, which unveiled an overhauled brand identity and package design by DBD International, continues to receive high accolades in the national and international awards and competitions.

Here are a few latest highlights on success of Botanical Bakery revamped brand in 2010:

  • In early May 2010, the Summit International Awards recognized the new Botanical Bakery logo and the packaging with a Bronze and a Silver for the 2010 competition. There were over 4,000 entries from over 23 countries.
  • In May 2010, the World Tea Expo announced that the “Garden Shortbread Cookies Ginger Squared has been selected as a Best New Product for the 2010 World Tea Expo.”
  • On June 1st, The New York Times did a feature on Botanical Bakery’s products.
  • Mid-June, an author of an upcoming book advised me that the Botanical Bakery was chosen—out of over thousands of entries—to be one of only 12 case studies that would be featured in the book. This will be a 4-page case study.
  • In July 2010, there was an article in Package Design magazine covering the «fun factor» in successful branding and packaging.
  • In August 2010, Botanical Bakery’s packaging was chosen for inclusion in Berlin, Germany, for an exhibit of «World’s Finest Packaging Design» at Direktorenhaus. Exhibition date: 23.09.2010 – 23.12.2010.

David Brier, the Head of DBD International, comments, «Botanical Bakery has a fantastically addictive product. The challenge was to introduce a bit of theater to make the products come alive in the minds of consumers.  This new brand image is playful, mischief and contagious, with an upper crust flair—just like the cookies.»
