eBay Has Launched the Give-A-Toy Store

eBay continues its philanthropic activities, which included the launch of eBay Celebrity and various activities of its Giving Works platform. For this holiday season eBay has partnered with Toys for Tots to cheer kids in need and give people an innovative way to window shop for good.

To participate, users have to visit a dedicated eBay’s Facebook page, ‘like’ it and customize their own toy, then share it with friends. For each completed toy, eBay will donate $1 to Toys for Tots (up to $50,000) and users can enter for a chance to win eBay’s sweepstakes.

eBay has also launched two Give-A-Toy Store displays in New York and San Francisco, where passersby can donate by scanning the QR-coded toys in the interactive window with their eBay mobile app. The toy stores come to life with every donation and celebrate and express their gratitude. Both locations will be open for enjoyment and charitable window shopping through December 9. The Give a Toy store in San Francisco is located in the Union Square shopping distract while the New York location is near the Macy’s in Herald Square.

The Give-A-Toy Store is powered by eBay mobile and designed by eBay’s ad agency, Venables Bell & Partners. A special mobile app lets consumers scan and shop anytime, anywhere, anyhow.

«This holiday season, we’re giving people an innovative way to window shop for good that will benefit Toys for Tots,» said Richelle Parham, chief marketing officer, eBay North America. «We’re leveraging our mobile technology to power The Give-A-Toy Store, which offers a differentiated, interactive experience for shoppers who wish to give using their smartphone.»
