Apart from its love to art, Google is respectful to religious traditions. To help Muslims celebrate the holy month of Ramadan, Google has launched a dedicated YouTube channel on which millions of devotees can watch the Islamic prayers live from Mecca.

“Ramadan traditions with a digital twist,” reads a title of the blogpost on the Google’s official blog. During Ramadan Muslims pray and fasten from dawn till dusk to unite their believes and also spend more time with their families. In the evening friends and families gather to share dinner called Iftar watch TV shows and programs shown only during Ramadan.

As the shows are numerous and often overlap in scheduling, Google decided to help. The tech giant will make more than 50 Ramadan shows available for people on YouTube anytime and anywhere but the same day they air. This is one of the examples of such a show:

Additionally, Google+ Hangouts on the Google Arabia page offers 30 virtual meetings during the month. Muslims will be able to watch celebrity chefs who will share their favorite recipes for Ramadan dinners and doctors who will give tips on eating healthy. Other celebrity figures will also feature in the Hangouts. For example, actors will discuss their favorite Ramadan shows, poets will talk about the related literature and religious figures will answer questions.
