The Facebook competition was launched to mark the upcoming 140th birthday of Heineken. International designers were challenged to create a bottle for its limited edition anniversary gift pack. They were briefed to improvise with the theme of how people would connect in the next 140 years and pair it with the work of another designer through the online gallery.
“Through a pioneering design process using digital space to unite creative talent from all around the world, Lee and Rodolfo have created a premium visual concept that summarizes how our world communicates through time. The way the design shifts the continents to create one world, in combination with the Heineken star as a planet in the center of a galaxy unites two strong perspectives on a similar idea—the collaboration through the visual language of the design was obvious,” said Mark van Iterson, Global Head of Design, Heineken, who was one of the judges that selected the winners.
The new designs and the creators’ names will feature on a Heineken bottle that will go on sale globally starting December 2012. The next limited edition challenge will launch in December 2012. Details can be found on yourfuturebottle.com from December 6, 2012.
